The following activities promote camping and scouting activities in the outdoors.  One of a Scouts favorite activity is camping.  

Tour Permits

Before you take your scouts out to any outing have the following sign your tour permit:

Tour permits are required by the BSA for all travel other than your normal monthly or weekly meeting place.

 

Tour permits are can be signed at each monthly District Roundtable.  This is held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at First United Methodist Church in Whittier.

 


UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

Camporee - Spring

Our District Spring Camporee will be held  at Firestone on April 18 - 20, 2008.  This theme is Indiana Jones.  This activity is open to all Webelos, Scouts and Ventures.  You will not want to miss this one.  We have lost of new activities as well as some of the standard ones.  Download the information and begin to train your Scouts.  For additional information please call Bill Wetzel @ 562.693.9359 or email w.wetzel4@verizon.net.


Cub Day Camp

Cub Day Camp - June 23-27, 2008.  Register before May 21st (Roundtable) for the early bird discount.  The theme this year is “Heroes, Heroes, Everywhere!”  Camp is open to Cubs who have been Tigers, Wolfs or Webelo 1’s during this past school.  (Cubs automatically advance to the next rank at camp.)  Have fun, make new friends, and get a jump on your new rank’s achievements!  Boy Scouts, don’t get left out of the fun!  Join camp staff as Den Chiefs.  Download the Information Letter and appropriate registration and medical forms.  For additional information, especially additional discounts for Cubs of adult volunteers, please call Dan Banuelos (562) 818-0575 or Geneva Giles (562) 693-1772 or bgmg15@verizon.net.

Summer Camp

Summer is almost here!  Any unit wishing to attend summer camp needs to register as soon as possible.  Space at Pitchess for Cub Scouts and Big Horn for Boy Scouts are filling up fast.  Added activities for Boy Scouts are the Mountain Bike Trek and Photo Safari.  It is an incomparable opportunity for the packs and troops to spend an uninterrupted week at a scout camp in beautiful Lake Arrowhead.
