and
YOU the Unit leader
Our District achieves its purpose by fulfilling four functions: Membership/Relationships, Finance, Program, and Unit Service. The fourth of these functions, Unit Service, is where the District’s Unit Commissioner Staff comes in.
The District provides support, resources and experience to Unit Leaders and their adult volunteers through its Unit Commissioner Staff. Every unit is assigned a Unit Commissioner who acts as the District’s link to its resources. The role of the Unit Commissioner is quite simple: to help units succeed.
Unit Commissioners proudly wear the gray wreath of the Commissioner Patch. It represents a personal Commitment of Service to a unit’s Chartered Organization and the Unit’s Leader and Volunteers. Both, the Chartered Organization and the Unit(s) it sponsors, form the core that delivers the program of Scouting to our youth. Unit Leaders should expect their assigned Unit Commissioners to contact them periodically, to be there when needed, to provide friendly and personal help, to offer advice, to suggest programs and support them and their volunteers.
